VIDEOS: Severe Storm Slams Rockland County, Triggers Flooding and Multiple Rescue Operations

By Rockland Daily Staff
A powerful storm swept through Rockland County Monday afternoon, dumping heavy rain in a short period and causing widespread flash flooding across the area.
Multiple neighborhoods were inundated as streets turned into rivers, trapping vehicles and flooding basements. Emergency services across the county were dispatched to perform water rescues and assist residents affected by the fast-rising waters.
Several major roadways and surrounding side streets, were temporarily impassable due to deep standing water. In Spring Valley, Ramapo, and Monsey, residents reported vehicles stalled in the middle of flooded intersections.
Officials are urging residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary, as floodwaters may still be hiding hazards.
