BDE: Sudden Petirah of Harav Hershel Keonig, z”l

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden petirah of Harav Hershel Kenig, z”l, beloved Rav and Magid Shiur of Anshei Briarwood Shul. He was in his 60's.

Reb Hershel was a fiery Viznitzer chossid in Monsey, never missing a “mitug tish” and always making sure to spend as much time as possible in the presence of his Rebbes.

His life’s mission was to make others happy and uplifted - a mission he carried out with endless energy. Always cheerful and full of simcha, Reb Hershel spread warmth wherever he went. Friends recall how he would walk long distances just to visit someone in need of encouragement, determined to bring a smile to their face.

Tragically, this afternoon, he suffered a sudden heart attack and was niftar, leaving his family, friends, and community in deep mourning.

The Levaye will take place 5:45pm at the Shul 19 Briarwood Ln., and 6:45 at the Viznitz Monsey Bhm"d.
