Tent Built to Connect Skverer Rebbe’s Home to Shul

When the Skverer Rebbe’s daughter passed away about a year-and-a-half ago, the Rebbe refused to sit shivah in the beis medrash—despite the significant inconvenience that this entailed—due to the custom that one does not leave home during the week of shivah.
During that shivah, the space turned out to be no match for the vast crowds who sought to console the Rebbe, and many were unable to attend the shiva altogether.
The Rebbe’s attendants were able to prevail upon the Rebbe to sit shivah for his Rebbetzin, a”h, in the beis medrash with the compromise that a tent would be built between the Rebbe’s home and the shul, connecting the two buildings, and thus, the Rebbe would technically not be leaving his home during shivah, as per the minhag.
The tent was erected this morning, and the Rebbe and his children are expected to sit in Shul beginning this afternoon, as reported here with the full schedule.
