Rockland County Sheriff's Communication Department Visits New Square to Address Radio System

By Rockland Daily Staff
Efforts are being made to improve the reliability of the Rockland County radio system in and around New Square, where there are ongoing communication problems.
These areas, including the main Shul and school buildings, sometimes have spotty service, which can be challenging for emergency responders.
The county is amidst a $1.7 million project aimed at improving the radio infrastructure. However, with the upcoming move to the new expansive shul in New Square ahead of Simchas Torah, as reported here, urgency has grown to ensure uninterrupted communication for emergency services, including Police, Fire, Hatzolah, and Ershte Hilf.
Adam C. Feuer, Chief of the Rockland County Sheriff's Communication Division, visited today New Square to assess the situation and discuss interim solutions. Plans are being formulated to implement a temporary system upgrade before the Yom Tov.
The meeting was attended by Izzy Spitzer, Mayor of New Square, David Breuer and Yakov Goldmentzer from New Square Hatzolah, Yakov Breuer and Zev Spitzer from New Square Emergency Service, and Moshe Kaff, Public Safety coordinator.
