Legislator Wieder On-Hand to Assist in Resolving TOR Routing Issues During Rockland Kosher Construction

by M.C. Millman
Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder was proactive in addressing the routing issues involving Shoppers Haven customers who utilize the county's TOR busing service.
The legislator's prompt action was a reassuring sign for the affected residents and shoppers who found themselves without a means to attend to their shopping requirements.
The meeting was arranged as a result of the ongoing construction in the front parking lot to the right of the shopping center, which created challenges for the regular bus route's drop-offs and pick-ups.
Legislator Wieder, in collaboration with Michael D'Angelo Rockland County's Deputy Commissioner of Transportation and representatives from Shoppers Haven, successfully devised a temporary alternate plan. This plan ensures that shoppers can continue to use the TOR bus service during the ongoing construction, a testament to the power of community collaboration.
"I am grateful that we have been able to come up with a working temporary plan," Legislator Wieder shares with Rockland Daily. "Given the tremendous number of families who frequent the shopping center, I appreciate that the Rockland County Department of Transportation was able to make accommodations during the construction process. This successful resolution will help countless residents take care of their shopping needs."
There will be a dry run of the new TOR route to Shoppers Haven on Friday to confirm the efficacy of the newly adjusted route. If all goes smoothly, the revised route will re-start next week.
