Rockland County Lawmakers Approve 2025 Budget

Rockland County's lawmakers have unanimously passed the new budget for 2025. The new $876 million budget has a $6 million increase from 2024.
The new budget includes increased funds for nonprofits and the $30 milllion sidewalk initiative that was announced a few weeks ago. In addition, the new budget will give homeowners a 2% cut on property taxes. This means that local taxpayers will be able to "keep more of what they earn in their wallets," Budget and Finance Committee Chairman Aron Wieder said.
“This budget ensures we can continue to invest in the safety, health, and quality of life of everyone in Rockland County,” County Executive Ed Day said.
