Historic Announcement in Rachmastrivka Monsey

Rockland Daily Staff

Since the tragic Petirah of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe zt"l a few months ago, Chasidim in Monsey have looked to his grandson, Harav Yakov Yosef, as the Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Monsey.

The Rebbe is the oldest son of the Reb Mottel Z"l, oldest son of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe z"l, and eidem of the Rachmastrivka Rav in Monsey. He is known for his greatness in all three pillars of the world, and the Rachmastrivka Chassidim in Monsey recognized him as their coming Manhig.

The Rebbe, though, did not accept the hanhagah, even though his Shver, the Rachmastrivka Rav in Monsey, also requested that he accept the Rabbanis. In the meantime, the Chasidim had the opportunity to have the Rebbe lead some Tishen and events, allowing them the gift of a true Rachmastrivka Manhig.

This Shabbos, Harav Yitzchok Aron Morris made a historic and special announcement before Krias Hatora sharing that the Rebbe had finally accepted the Hanhagah and will lead the Chasidim as their Rebbe and take on all this includes, at the side of his Shver the Rachmastrivka Rav for over 40 years.

The Rebbe requested that it should be announced in his name that for the sake of shalom, he should be called the 'Rachmastrivka Rebbe of Spring Valley.'

Following the announcement, the Rebbe received the Aliah of Shishi as per the custom in Rachmastrivka, and later by Kiddush, the Chasidim wished l'chaim for the Rebbe while singing songs of joy and celebration while wishing him many years of Hatzlacha and Seyate Dishmaye.
