Free Fishing Day for New York State on Sunday

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation designated Sunday, June 30, as a free fishing day, allowing Rockland residents to fish recreationally without a freshwater fishing license on that day.
Rockland locations recently stocked by our Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources with bluegills, bass, and trout include Demarest Kill Park in New City, which was stocked with 600 bluegills and bass; Ramapo River in Sloatsburg and Hillburn, which was stocked with 400 trout; Mahwah River at Kakiat Park in Montebello and Minisceongo Creek in Haverstraw, which each received 300 trout; Crum Creek at Kennedy Dells Park in New City and Sparkill Creek, both of which were stocked with 100 trout.
