Senator Bill Weber To Host Lyme Disease Awareness Event

Senator Bill Weber To Host Lyme Disease Awareness Event

Due to an uptick in lyme disease cases in our region, and at the request of many constituents, Senator Bill Weber will be hosting an important Lyme Disease Awareness & Tick Prevention Forum to equip parents, camp counselors, and the public with essential information to prevent and respond to tick-borne illnesses such as lyme disease. Experts will share current data, best practices, and practical tools to protect families and children this summer.

The panelists will include Dr. Azfar Chak, Chief of Infectious Diseases, Montefiore Nyack, Juliette Content, Public Health Education Specialist, Rockland County Department of Health, and Kristen Ossmann, Horticulture Educator, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County.

Free tick removal tools and tick combs will be provided courtesy of Senator Weber, along with educational lyme disease brochures and children’s activity books.

The event will take place at the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Fielding Room, on Tuesday, July 23, at 4pm.
