Fire Departments Battle Brush Fire on Rock Hill Road

By Rockland Daily Staff

A large brush fire broke out on Rock Hill Road in Spring Valley, spreading dangerously close to nearby homes and igniting the porch of a house.

The fire, covering an area of approximately 100 by 200 feet, prompted a swift response from multiple fire departments, including Spring Valley FD, Monsey FD, and South Spring Valley FD, as well as Ramapo Police and Chaveirim.

As a safety measure, Old Nyack Turnpike has been closed to traffic in both directions between Rock Hill Road and Haddasah Lane, allowing emergency responders full access to contain the flames and prevent further spread.

The fire is now under control.
