Tomorrow: Monsey Fire District Hosts Fire Safety Day

By Idy Perl

This Friday, the Monsey Fire District will be hosting a fun and informative Fire Safety Day at the new Park and Ride on Route 59.

The event will give local residents a chance to meet several Rockland County emergency response teams. Participants will be able to hear about what those departments do and learn important safety tips. There will also be live demonstrations of various types of fires and how to extinguish them, as well as a free giveaway of fire extinguishers, while supplies last.

Assemblyman Aron Wieder's office, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, will be giving residents the opportunity to schedule a free appointment with the American Red Cross to install smoke detectors at home. Assemblyman Wieder will be at the event and available to speak with constituents about any concerns or issues.

The event will take place tomorrow, August 15, from 12pm-5pm.
