Acting on Intelligence of Possible Terror Attacks, Israel Police Increase Security in Jerusalem as Yom Tov Approaches

The Yomim Tovim are always a time when security is heightened around Eretz Yisroel. Masses of Yidden arrive from around the country, and around the world, to the holy city of Yerushalayim during this time, and mass selichos events are held at the Kosel, where enormous crowds also gather during sukkos. 

The Israeli government announced that it will deploy an additional 2,000 troops to the city of Jerusalem during the Yomim Tovim, and a number of roads will be closed off. This announcement comes following the receipt of intelligence that Palestinian terrorist organizations plan to carry out attacks during the Yomim Nora'im time, and amid tensions in the West Bank.
