Weekend Weather: As Low Pressure Retreats, Smoke to Finally Clear

Yaker Biegeleisen
The smoke and haze from earlier in the week—which reached historic AQI numbers of above 400–has been slowly retreating. It remained overhead due to a low-pressure system over Maine which funneled the air over this area.
As the low-pressure system retreats west, it will funnel the air west, toward Iowa and western New York, as the smell of smoke leaves our area at last.
Friday may see some showers in the late afternoon and evening, making way for clearer weather over Shabbos which will see 70’s by day, 50’s at night… and, blessedly, no smoke.
