Stormy Weather, chance of a tornado, for Rockland area

The winds will move from east to west, along a cold front over our area.
Rockland County is in the “enhanced” zone (the third to highest level) of weather severity. Large hail and an isolated tornado are also possible at some point during this storm. This could potentially cause damage to vehicles and limit visibility for drivers.
Orange and Rockland Utilities announced that they have activated their emergency teams in anticipation of downed wires caused by falling trees from the strong winds. As always, they urge the public not to approach the wires, as they may be live.
The peak of the storm for the Rockland area will most likely be in the late afternoon hours, between 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The storm will cover a very large area, and some 60 million people are set to be affected by some form of severe weather this afternoon.
