Senator Weber's Blood Drive Challenge Kicks Off In Ramapo
By Idy Perl
A few weeks ago, Senator Bill Weber announced his second annual Blood Drive Challenge in Rockland County. This initiative, which is in conjuction with the Red Cross, is designed to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donations during the summer and to encourage local residents to donate and save lives.
Over the next week, a blood drive will be held in each town in Rockland County, with a friendly competition to see which town can get the most units of blood donated and the most first-time donors. Last year’s drive collected a total of 111 units of blood and welcomed 64 first-time donors, with the Town of Clarkstown winning both honors.
This year's challenge kicks off today in Ramapo, where the blood drive is being held at Finkelstein Library from 10:30am-4:30pm.
