New York has seen its share of hurricanes recently, including Sandy, Irene, Linda, and Ida, which wreaked devastation on coastal and low-lying areas.
Now, the State says it’s working with a new study to introduce its first hurricane evacuation plan in over a decade.
The study—authored with the participation of FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers— will be completed by the end of 2023 and is aimed at helping all New Yorkers with hurricanes and tropical storms.
