Kids Cook: Summer Slushies
So many fun and refreshing colors in one sip!
All you need to do is make jello, freeze them in cubes, and allow them to sit at room temperature for five minutes. Take a straw and sip your homemade slushie in the boiling heat. This slushie idea works with all jello flavors. You can also pick your favorite flavor and keep your slush one color.
Making slush is way more fun than buying it- so enjoy the process and the cold and refreshing result!
You will need:
Ice cube trays
Jello- a few different flavors
Hot water
Tall cups or Slurpee cups
Colorful straws
Directions:
Place each flavor of jello in a separate bowl.
Add 2 cups of hot water to each bowl and mix with a spoon.
Pour the hot jello into the ice cube trays using a spoon.
Freeze overnight, or until frozen. Once frozen, turn the tray upside down and run hot water over it to loosen the cubes. Then turn it upside down on a flat surface and bang the top to get the cubes out.
Fill the cups with colorful cubes.
Add a straw.
