Historic Westchester Lighthouse Vandalized

The historic Tarrytown Lighthouse in Sleepy Hollow, which can be seen across the Hudson River from Rockland County, was vandalized and set on fire over the weekend.
A Westchester Parks employee discovered the vandalism on Saturday morning, and found smashed windows on the first and second floors, broken furniture and antiques, and smoke from a small fire that was still burning on the first floor. The Sleepy Hollow Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.
The Tarrytown Lighthouse, which was built in 1883 and in use until 1965, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and recently underwent an extensive $3.4 million renovation. The damage is estimated to cost around $100,000, thought that will probably go up as the investigation continues.
New photos released by the police on Tuesday show four individuals who are the leading suspects in the case.
