The massive new Skverer Beis Medrash in New Square is still in the midst of construction and is still not ready for use.  However, on the basement level, a beautiful new mikvah is in the finishing stages and will be opening its doors to the thousands of Chassidim who will be in Skver for Rosh Hashanah.

The mikvah is a beautiful, sprawling space, with multiple massive boros tevillah to accommodate the thousands who wish to immerse before davening.

Rockland Daily reported here on the heavy rains that filled the boros back in the spring, and much work has taken place over the summer to get the mikvah up and running.

Askonim tell Rockland Daily that the completion of the mikvah in time is a miracle. “A number of months ago, the Rebbe expressed his wishes that he would like to see the mikvah completed in time for Rosh Hashanah. No one believed that it could happen, but working day and night through the summer, we were able to bring this dream to reality.”

Last night, thousands of Chassidim came to view the new Mikvah.

At about 2:30 a.m., the Skverer Rebbe came to witness the fulfillment of his dream and was the first to immerse in the new Mikvah, bringing much joy to Skverer Chassidim worldwide and  inaugurating the Mikvah in honor of Yom Tov.
