Planet Earth spiked its hottest day ever recorded for this week, and many parts of the world suffered from devastating consequences, the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction reported.
At least 15 Americans have died this year after many states experienced a brutal heat wave that blasted to 120 degrees in late June when Monday’s average global temperature reached 62.62 F., the highest average global temperature ever recorded.
Regular highs that went over 113 degrees in the state of Bihar in India throughout June killed at least 44 people. In China, the highest daily temperature has exceeded 95 degrees F. over a six-month period.
Temperatures will continue to rise as the summer continues and the natural warming effect of El Niño continues to develop, Friederike Otto, a senior lecturer in climate science at the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment in the UK told CNN.
