A Leaner Twitter Auctions High-End Items from Luxurious Past
By BZ Green
When Elon Musk took the helm of Twitter, he promised to root out wasteful spending and a redundant workforce. He proceeded to fire thousands of employees, among the many changes he instituted in the company.
Musk is also cleaning house in a different way; 631 high-end items are on auction to the highest bidder. A giant blue bird that adorned Twitter’s San Francisco Headquarters is fetching $17,000 as of Wednesday, and 20,000 people had registered to bid online.
Meat slicers, espresso machines, luxury furniture, and a decorative planter shaped like a giant @ symbol are also among the 631 lots on auction as Twitter continues its journey through uncharted waters.
