Rockland County Highlights Behind-the-Scenes Emergency Preparedness in “Did You Know Friday” Series

In this Friday's “Did You Know” spotlight, the Rockland County Office of Fire and Emergency Services took a moment to highlight an important piece of the county’s emergency response system: the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Operated by the Emergency Management Division, the EOC is the central hub activated during emergencies, where key partners, including fire departments, EMS, law enforcement, public health officials, public works, and more, gather to coordinate real-time response efforts and support residents across the county.

In addition to its main EOC, Rockland County also maintains several backup operations centers in strategic locations, ensuring continuity of response even under extreme circumstances.

The post serves as a powerful reminder that emergency preparedness begins with planning, and Rockland County is actively making sure it's ready for whatever may come.
