Spring Valley Fire Deparatment Saves Home From Nearby Car Fire

By Idy Perl

The Spring Valley Fire Department saved a home from destruction this afternoon due to their fast respose to a car fire.

The Spring Valley FD responded to a call for a vehicle that caught on fire while parked in a driveway on N Jackson Ave in Spring Valley. The firefighters quickly started fighting the blaze, aware of the home near the driveway that was close to the fire.

The siding of the home started melting due to the flames and smoke, but the firefighters were able to successfully extinguish the flames in time and save the home.

"With our fast response our members were able to put the fire out and save the structure, saving multiple families from being homeless," Spring Valley Fire Department Chief Ray Canario told Rockland Daily. "With our advanced technology and training and professionalism we were able to do the job with zero injuries."
