Rockland Daily Partners with Local Leaders to Urge Bike Safety

With summer in full swing, the streets are alive with bicycles and scooters. In response to the rise in accidents over the past few months, Rockland Daily and town leaders team up to highlight the importance of bicycle safety.
“We have many people in this town, young and old, riding their bikes throughout our beautiful town, and we are happy to see you people do that,” says Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht. “But we want you to be safe.”
“Always wear a helmet,” Rockland Hatzalah Coordinator Josh Hans cautions the Monsey community. “Remember, your helmet is going to protect you in case Chas v’shalom, you get into an accident, and then you have to meet me.”
Equally passionate, Congressman Mike Lawler calls on drivers to keep an eye out.“We want to make sure that everyone gets home safe every day, so remember to drive slowly, watch where you are going, and be on the lookout, thank you".
“It’s all about being cautious, it’s about being seen, and about being careful,” concludes Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman. “Together, if we work on these safety rules and these guidelines, we can make Ramapo a much safer place to ride and drive.”
