Plans for Minisceongo Golf Site

by Rockland Daily Staff
A plan has been presented at the 143.6-acre former Minisceongo Golf Course at the Ramapo town board meeting, which involves building around 637 townhouses.
The proposed development is named Millers Pond. The news comes just one year after the controversial Ramapo rezoning, which allowed for residential and business development at the golf course, as reported in Rockland Daily here. The golf course owners, Joseph Kazarnovsky of Monsey and Mark Mandelbaum of Toronto, Canada, and Mount Ivy LLC principals have been waiting to build since 2016, when they purchased the property for $32 million.
This housing is "unprecedented for Rockland County," says developer Joseph Kazarnovsky, "and I think it will be a tremendous benefit for every citizen in the county."
Kazarnovksy elaborated on the plans to build townhomes with four homes attached to create a cluster. This will allow for a tremendous amount of open space, play areas, and recreational spaces.
When asked what the cost was to move into or buy into the developments, Kazarnovsky did not yet have an answer. He explained that the building costs would largely determine the price of the houses.
There are also plans to provide one or two buildings with one and two-bedroom rental apartments, which is rare in that area. As Kazarnovksy pointed out, "This is the first time rental properties have been in this area in the longest time."
