O & R Warns Residents About Scammers on the Prowl

Orange and Rockland Utilities is warning the public about scammers who target unwitting residents by impersonating the utility company and asking for payment. 

In one of the most prevalent phone scams, a caller may pretend to be from Orange and Rockland. They may even manipulate the caller ID to display Orange and Rockland's name. They may threaten to turn off your power or gas within an hour or demand immediate payment — often by prepaid debit card.

If you suspect a scammer, call the police or O&R's Security Services at 1-845-577-3526 during business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 - 4:30) or 1-833-460-7059.
