Good Samaritan Hospital Holds Annual Public Menorah Lighting

Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern hosted its sixth annual Public Menorah lighting earlier this evening, bringing together the Rockland County community to celebrate Chanukah, hosted by Metrex Realty.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including business owner Meyer Tauber of Metrex Realty, which hosted the entire event; District Attorney Tom Walsh; Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht; Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach; Assemblyman Aron Wieder; Spring Valley trustee Joseph Gross; Moishe Kaff of New Square; community activist Yossi Gestetner; Yehuda Zurger from the Rockland Jewish Alliance; Pat Frawley; Chief Assistant District Attorney, Yakov Fligman of the Monsey Fire Dept, members of the Monsey Fire Department departments 7 and 20; members of the Faist ambulance services; members of the Spring Hill ambulance services; members of the Rockland Paramedics; members of Monroe Hatzalah; chaplains of Good Samaritan Hospital; Law Enforcement Chaplain Simcha Bernath; Montebello Deputy Mayor Stacy Caridi; Legislator Jesse M. Malowitz; County Clerk Dana Silberman; Stephen J. Powers from the county executive's office; John Mulgrew From Senator Webers office; Shimmi Deutsch from Rockland Jewish Alliance; Joel Lefkowitz from the Attorney General's office; Rabbi Herbst, Jewish Liaison to the hospital; Rabbi Ganz from Chabad Monsey; Rabbi Ehrenreich from Chabad Nyack; former senator Elijah Melnick; and Ari Rosenblum from the Rockland Jewish Federation.
The evening featured insightful speeches from several distinguished speakers, including the Town Supervisor, District Attorney Tom Walsh, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, and Dr. Andrew Pitkins who expressed his eagerness to work closely with the community, thanked Meyer Tauber for organizing the event, and emphasized the importance of reaching out whenever a need arises. He spoke passionately about his goal of making the hospital a lighthouse for the community, committed to providing excellent care for all. Suffern Mayor Lance Millman also spoke, sharing how deeply important the hospital is to him, as it was the place where he himself was born.
Meyer Tauber spoke passionately, highlighting how even a small bit of light can make a world of difference. He encouraged everyone to come together, stressing the importance of unity in making positive change. He also took a moment to thank everyone for always coming together and for their unwavering support, acknowledging the strength of their community and the impact of their collective efforts.
The menorah was then lit by eight elected officials, symbolizing unity and the spirit of the event and community.
