Emergency Services Respond To Mistaken Train Accident
By Idy Perl
Clarkstown Police received a call about a man injured by the train on New Clarkstown Road.
Clarkstown Police responded but couldn't locate the injured person, so they roped in Spring Valley Police to check the train station at the Municipal Plaza. Spring Valley PD canvassed the train route and finally found the victim near the tracks on Lawrence Street.
The victim had sustained a shoulder injury, but further questioning made it clear that it wasn't caused by the train. A nearby pedestrian who made the initial call to the police had assumed the injury was caused by the train due to the proximity to the train tracks.
MTA Police and Nanuet EMS responded to the scene as well.
