Clarkstown Hosts Senior Scam Prevention Seminar to Protect Residents

Clarkstown Parks & Recreation is taking proactive steps to protect its senior citizens from financial fraud and scams.
Recognizing the increasing sophistication of scammers targeting vulnerable seniors, Superintendent of Parks & Recreation Matt Veronesi, alongside Town Supervisor George Hoehmann and Police Chief Jeff Wanamaker, has announced a Senior Scam Prevention Seminar.
This informative event will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Street Community Center Auditorium, located at 31 Zukor Road, New City, NY 10956.
The seminar will cover prevalent scams, including the Grandparents Scam, IRS Scam, Funeral Scams, and more. Experts will provide practical tips to help seniors identify and avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes.
Pre-registration is required to attend this event. Seniors can register online or by calling the Parks & Recreation Department at 845-639-6200. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
