Update: Police Pursuit Leads To Arrest In Spring Valley

The Spring Valley Police have released more information regarding the foot pursuit that took place on October 29th and led to the arrest of a suspect near Slinn Avenue. 

The suspect, a 19-year-old male, was wanted in connection to an altercation that happened earlier that day at the Family Dollar store located in Spring Valley. The police officers were conducting a routine foot patrol near the Spring Valley Commons apartment complex when they noticed the suspect. The suspect fled towards Slinn Avenue when they attemped to stop him, but they managed to catch up with him and place him under arrest.

During the pursuit the suspect removed a loaded firearm from his waistband and threw it on the ground, which the officers recovered.

Last night at around 10pm officers near Slinn Avenue in Spring Valley called for backup while in pursuit of a suspect. 

Additional units responded to the scene and chased the suspect on foot when he tried to escape. The suspect was subdued with a taser and subsequently arrested, and a gun was found on the scene as well. 

An investigation is ongoing, and further details regarding the arrest are currently unknown.
