Update on CHPE Construction On Route 9W

Rockland Daily recently reported on the CHPE construction work. Today, we provide a full detailed report on the construction and closures.
The CHPE (Champlain Hudson Power Express) project will be drilling along Route 9W to install an underground electrical transmission system, and the construction of will cause road closures this week in several neighborhoods.
In Stony Point, work continues at the Colonial Plaza on 146
South Liberty Drive and Patriot Square Shopping Center located at 22 South
Liberty Drive. A temporary access road is being constructed in front of the
Helen Hayes Rehabilitation with an entrance at the Mobil Station located at 163
South Liberty Drive in preparation for later work. Starting next week, the
southern part of Park Rd will be closed and there will be a detour in place.
In Haverstraw and West Haverstraw, construction work is happening
on 9W between Long Clove Rd and Tilcon, and traffic signal cameras are being installed
at intersections from Route 304 to Short Clove Rd CR90, and Westside Avenue until
Railroad Ave CR94.
In Clarkstown, an access road is being constructed at the
junction of 303 and 9W. Tree clearing and other pre-construction work is being
done at 259 Rt 9W, and road drilling is taking place at 152 Rt 9W. Traffic signal
cameras are being installed at the intersections from 3.800 ft North of Lake
Road until NY Rt 303, and from Rt 303 to Rt 304.
