The Future of Transportation

The Future of Transportation

M.C. Millman

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) is seeking your input to shape the future of transportation in our region.

As the planning organization for the Lower Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island, NYMTC is responsible for planning the use of federal transportation funding. The organization must update the Regional Transportation Plan every four years.

Moving Forward 2055 is the name of the latest Regional Transportation Plan being developed by the NYMTC, along with key stakeholders and members of the public. The Plan includes all modes of ground transportation, such as roads, bridges, highways, rail and bus transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transportation of people with disabilities, and more.

The NYMTC has released a survey to receive feedback from members of the public about what they think transportation should look like now and in the future. Three survey participants will be awarded a $75 gift card if the survey is completed before October 31.

Join the NYMTC at pop-up events across the region to provide feedback, learn more about the project, get some special project giveaways, and get involved in the plan development process. See past and upcoming events here
