State Police Report Surge in Traffic Tickets During August Enforcement Campaign

From August 12 to 18, 2024, the State Police conducted a focused traffic enforcement campaign aimed at curbing speeding and improving road safety. This initiative has yielded notable results, with a significant increase in the number of traffic tickets issued compared to the previous year.
During the campaign, State Police issued 33% more speeding tickets than in 2023. Additionally, there was a 41% rise in tickets for "Move Over" violations, reflecting a heightened emphasis on driver safety in the presence of emergency vehicles. Overall, the total number of tickets issued saw a 16% increase.
