Satmar Kehillah of Monsey to Formally Appoint Six New Dayonim
Yitzy Fried
Six young talmidei chachomim are about to take the reigns as morei hora’ah within the Satmar Kehillah in Monsey and the surrounding areas.
This, after they have toiled for years in the tent of Torah, being thoroughly tested on multiple sections of Shulchan Aruch, and undergoing shimush under accomplished dayonim. The semicha program is the endeavor of the heads of the kehillah in Monsey who are seeing incredible growth in the kehillah, and with that, the need for more dayonim who will guide families within the community in the ways of Torah and halacha.
A l’chaim event took place in the home of the Satmar Rebbe last Sunday, celebrating the occasion together with the new dayonim, and a formal event to inaugurate the dayonim—with the participation of the Rebbe shlit”a—will take place Tuesday afternoon in the Satmar Beis Medrash in Monsey.
