County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a program of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, released a health report on Wednesday of all counties in the US, and then ranked them on several different factors.
According to data on the quality of life, access to medical resources, social and mental well-being, physical community infrastructure and conditions, and more, the CHR&R ranked all US counties on "Population Health and Wellbeing" and "Community Conditions."
According to their report, Rockland County is performing above the national average in population health and well-being, and in line with the national average for community conditions.
“This report highlights the areas in which we are doing well but with help from our partnerships with state and federal agencies, local community and faith organizations, healthcare providers, schools, worksites, and municipalities, we are always working hard to improve our health outcomes," Dr. Mary Leahy, Rockland County Commissioner of Health, commented.
"The future of public health is in our hands—it thrives when we take action and responsibility. I urge every resident to prioritize their health and work together to build a stronger, healthier community," County Executive Ed Day said.
