Police Issue Warning About Instagram Phishing Scams

The Haverstraw and Stony Point Police Departments are warning residents about a rise in Instagram phishing scams, especially targeting teens. Scammers send fake messages claiming your account will be deleted unless you share personal information or pay a ransom.

Don’t share passwords or security codes. Avoid clicking suspicious links. Never send money to regain account access.

If you’re targeted, report it immediately and update your security settings.
