Mahwah Sheraton Scheduled For Implosion On Saturday

By Idy Perl
This weekend, the 37-year-old, 250-foot-tall, 25-story Sheraton hotel in Mahwah, New Jersey, will be getting demolished by an implosion.
The demolition is planned for 7:30am, and will cause several street closures in the area on Saturday morning. State Police will be patrolling the nearby highways, which will be closed from around 6:45am in case of falling debris and so that drivers on the highway aren't distracted by the implosion. The highway closures are expected to last for 5-15 minutes after the implosion.
Residents are warned not to come onto the property to watch the implosion, as only those with proper credentials will be allowed. The implosion will be livestreamed and recorded on social media.
