As Construction on Bobov-45 Shul Reaches Final Stretch, Chasidim Unite to Help Take Monumental Project Across the Finish Line

Decade-long project to build New York’s largest shul enters its final phase • Grassroots campaign calls upon Klal Yisroel to assist in completing the shul

——

It is rare for a Chasdius to grow as big and respected as Bobov-45 without a shul of its own.

But Bobov-45 has never been shy about defying the odds, and the kehilla has in fact grown by leaps and bounds over the past 20+ years despite utilizing a girls-school auditorium for tefilos, tishen, simchos and the like.

During this time, the Chasidim’s yearning for a true home of their own never faded. Even amidst challenging times, they kept their eyes and hopes up towards a day when they will get to call their very own place home.

To that end, the past decade has seen the large property on 14th Avenue and 49th Street transformed from a demolition site into what is soon to become one of the most magnificent batei midrashim in the world and the largest in New York.

Years of construction have seen foundations built, beams erected, walls constructed, the building outfitted with utility infrastructure, and so much more that goes into constructing such a massive building. The new center will serve the many needs of Chasidim and the local community every day of the year, and is being built accordingly.

Today, as the project inches towards completion, a collective anticipation permeates the air. The new center promises to provide a permanent and awe-inspiring space, a testament to the resilience and determination of the community that gathered around the Rebbe Shlit”a more than two decades ago after the passing of his father-in-law, the previous Bobover Rebbe R’ Naftali Z”l.

The long-running dream is now no longer a distant aspiration but a reality slowly unfolding before their eyes. The collective hope is to see the kehilla move into the new beis medrash in time for the upcoming Yamim Nora’im. It is hard to describe what monumental joy such a development would bring to the thousands of Bobov-45 Chasidim around the globe.

Yet one obstacle remains: a substantial amount is still needed to get to the finish line. After Chasidim and philanthropists have already given so much, the Bobov-45 community now feels compelled to reach out to a broader audience for the final push. A campaign was set in motion at a large kehilla gathering this past Sunday at which the Rebbe Shlita pleaded with the Chassidim to reach out beyond the community for support.

The crowdfunding mission is a means of financial support but also as an opportunity to invite people to be a part of history, to contribute to a landmark project that will leave an indelible mark on generations to come, and secure a zechus that extends far beyond their own lifetimes.

As we approach the finish line, the Bobov-45 community extends a plea to Klal Yisroel: the journey has been long, but the destination is within reach, and we really need your help.

It is expected that the campaign will reach the hearts of Yidden of all stripes and factions, and bring them together to build a center that will be a light for the world.

The Psichas She’arim campaign will take place Sunday and Monday, May 11-12. It can be found at dryveup.com/bobov45
