Lake Welch Reopens

On July 9th health officials announced that Lake Welch in Harriman Park was closed due to harmful algae found in the water.

Exposure to high levels of algae can cause nausea, vomiting, and other symptoms.

Earlier today officials announced that the beach and picnic areas have reopened after the water was treated. Visitors are welcome at the beach again to enjoy the park and lake.
