Governor Hochul Visits Rockland for Campaign Fundraising Event

by M.C. Millman
Governor Hochul paid a visit to Rockland this afternoon for a fundraising event that included local elected officials and askanim at Fireside in Monsey.
As part of her visit to Rockland, the governor also toured the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance & Education along with New York Senator Bill Weber, Kaser Mayor Allie Pinkasovits, and New Square Mayor Izzy Spitzer. Members of the Rockland Community College Board & Museum Board members were also in attendance.
At the museum, the governor spoke of her visit to Israel after the October 7 attack, which she condemned while expressing her horror at the reports of the day and the atrocities of Hamas.
"As Rockland's Senator, it's always a treat when the governor pays our county a visit," says Senator Bill Weber. "During these tumultuous times for the Jewish community, her visit to the Holocaust Center for Tolerance and Education was especially meaningful."
"The fact that the governor took time out of her busy schedule to visit us here in Rockland is something that means a lot to her constituents," Legislator Aron Wieder shares exclusively with Rockland Daily. "Her visit to Israel after the tragic events of October 7 and her visit today to the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education in Suffern shows us that her heart is in the right place when it comes to fighting antisemitism and standing up for the Jewish people and what's right."
"We were honored to have Governor Kathy Hochul visit Ramapo today," Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht tells Rockland Daily. "I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with Governor Hochul about issues that affect our town and community and to hear how she is committed to fighting the rising antisemitism we are seeing not only by speaking out but by giving additional resources for law enforcement to combat hate crimes. We also discussed how she will help us meet the demand for housing by providing incentives to pro-housing communities and reforming laws that are weaponized to unfairly obstruct housing growth."
"I appreciate the visit very much," Village of Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach shares with Rockland Daily, "and am excited that the governor once again came to Rockland and expressed her support concerning antisemitism. She also acknowledged the need for more housing throughout Rockland and voiced her commitment to working towards that goal."
"It was really nice to have the honor to attend the event with Governor Kathy Hochul," Village of Chestnut Ridge Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose shares exclusively with Rockland Daily. "It's always good for community leaders to be able to connect with governmental officials, to be able to accomplish more for our respective municipalities. We as a growing community have a lot of needs, including infrastructure needs, and it's always important to articulate those vital needs to the state's governor."
