Fires in Area Send Plumes of Smoke Across the Region

Two separate fires have occurred in the area now, creating significant plumes of smoke that are visible across a wide region.

The first fire, located in Nanuet, is sending smoke that can be seen over large areas of Monsey and the Thruway. It happened after workers accidentally struck a gas line on Avalon Gardens Drive. The incident prompted an emergency response, with firefighters from Spring Valley, Monsey, Suffern, Tallman, and Nanuet on the scene.

The second fire is burning on Village Valley Road in Wesley Hills.
