After the string of car break-ins that took place overnight on Monday, February 26, as reported by Rockland Daily here, Ramapo Police Department detectives, working together with Skverer's Ershte Hilf, located the most valuable item of all from the heists, a top of the line $14,000 shtreimel that was in the process of being delivered by Gold Shreimel's manager.
The Ramapo Police Department returned the pristine shtreimel today, two weeks after arresting the pair of suspects. The detectives working on the case were Detectives Peggy Braddock, John Youngman, and Danny Santa. As reported by Rockland Daily, the first suspect was arrested on Tuesday, February 27, and the second on Friday, March 1.
"I am so thankful to the Ramapo Police Department and detectives as well as the Ershte Hilf and especially the devoted askan Moishy Kaff, Village of New Square Public Safety Coordinator, who worked tirelessly together with the police department," the manager of Gold Shtreimel from New Square shares exclusively with Rockland Daily. "They put in so much effort to return my shtreimel which honestly I was sure I was never going to see again. You can't imagine how grateful I am to have it back."
