Sunday Morning Traffic Alert: Bike Riders Racing Through Rockland

This Sunday, May 19, the annual global cycling marathon, Gran Fondo Bike Race, will ride through parts of Rockland from around 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
GFNY World Championship NYC is the world’s most international cycling race, with bikers traveling to NYC from over 90 countries to take on the challenging race course.
About 5,000 riders from all over the world will join the race. Cyclists begin their ride on the George Washington Bridge, going up Route 9W and into Rockland County. The cyclists turn back in Bear Mountain and make their way through Stony Point, Ramapo, and Clarkstown, before ending off in Fort Lee.
The race will pass through the following streets:
In Stony Point:
- Grassy Point Rd
- Beach Rd
- Tomkins Ave
- RT 9W North
- Mott Farm Rd
- Cedar Flats Rd
- RT 210
- Gate Hill Rd
- Willow Grove Rd
In Haverstraw Pomona:
- Right onto Call Hollow Rd
- Left onto Wolf Rd
- Right onto Halley Dr
- Left on Overlook Rd
- Left on Southridge Rd
- Right on Woodfield Rd
- Straight past Trapper’s Way
- Right on Brookside Dr
- Right on Quaker Rd
- Straight past N Camp Hill Rd
In Pomona Ramapo:
- Right on Ladentown Rd
- Straight past 202
- Continue on Route 306
- Left onto Pomona Road
- Left onto Rt 45 70
- Straight past PIP Exit 12
- Right onto Concklin Road
Bikers are expected to travel through the area between approximately 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
While no roads will be closed in Rockland, expect periodic traffic interruptions at crossing intersections.
