Two boaters were rescued from the Hudson River after a passenger on a Metro-North train passing near the Tappan Zee Bridge spotted them in the water.
"If you see something, say something" was exactly the right thing to do in this case.
A police marine patrol boat and helicopter were used in the mission on Wednesday, August 16, at around 6 p.m., rescuing the two capsized boaters who were adrift for approximately 90 minutes after being separated from a personal watercraft, they were operating on the river.
"Thanks to an alert citizen, and great communication among all police agencies and personnel involved, this incident came to a safe and successful conclusion," Westchester County Police shared in a social media post on Friday.
