Private Jets Come to Orange County

Stewart International Airport, a military and public airport located in New Windsor, will soon have private jets joining their airfield. 

As private jet use gains popularity and becomes more common, the Stewart Airport is expanding their services to accommodate private jets as well. The deal was signed off last month by the Port Authority’s board of commissioners. 

“If this is an opportunity for us to utilize our airport in new and innovative ways and create jobs, I certainly don’t see an issue with that,” Orange County Legislator Genesis Ramos said. “This can be a catalyst for other projects.”

The plans for 15 new hangars with a total of 300,000 square feet, where owners will be able to rent space to store their private jets, is expected to be finalized by the fall and will open in 2028.
