BDE: R’ Pinchos Surkis, z”l

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of R’ Pinchos Surkis of New Square. He was in his 70’s.

The niftar was born to his father, R’ Mendel Surkis, in Williamsburg, and they came to New Square in the early years. He is remembered as a chassidishe Yid, beloved by many, who went about his avodas Hashem with temimus.

While his regular work was as a caterer, he would often be seen making the rounds, collecting for Yidden in need.

He was niftar on Friday, and laid to rest in the Skverer beis hachaim.
