Suzanne Lake Revitalization Project Begins
By Idy Perl
The long-awaited project to revitalize Suzanne Lake is
finally starting to come to fruition.
Local residents might have already noticed the gates and mobile office that have been set up near the lake in preparation for the construction, which will be starting shortly and is expected to be completed within a year.
The project, which is funded through grants secured by
Assemblyman Aron Wieder, will include a beautiful boardwalk on the water where pedestrians
will be able to stroll and enjoy the view. Benches will be installed along the
boardwalk, and a water fountain in the water as well as the falls from the dam will
complete the picturesque scenery.
“I’m thrilled that the construction for this project is starting,” Assemblyman Wieder tells Rockland Daily. “Suzanne Lake is an iconic part of the Monsey neighborhood, and this project will provide residents with a beautiful boardwalk to appreciate and enjoy the lake more than ever."
