Update On Devastating Nyack Fires

By Idy Perl
Last week Nyack experienced two devastating fires in residential buildings, which displaced thirteen Nyack families.
Now, a week later, local fundraisers have raised over $80,000 to help the affected families get back on their feet. The families have found temporary shelter in hotels, which has been paid for in part by Village and private donations.
The Nyack mayor released a statement thanking the community for stepping up in the days following the fire to help the families by bringing food and clothing donations and expressing their support. He thanked the emergency responders as well, for their bravery and hard work in battling the fires.
