Recall Issued for Popular Laundry Machines

Recall Issued for Popular Laundry Machines

Rockland Daily Staff

A possible fire hazard has prompted the Electrolux Group to recall its Frigidaire gas laundry centers.

The recall was announced by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and impacts around 13,600 units nationwide.

The CPSC says there have been 23 reports of fire and one report of a smoke inhalation injury due to a felt seal that was placed on the dryer drum. The felt seal can fold inward, causing lint accumulation and a fire hazard.

Those who own one of these laundry stations should stop using the dryer immediately. (The washing machine is still safe to use.)

While those affected can expect the company to reach out to them directly, they can also contact the Electrolux Group for a free inspection, repair, and lint removal service.

The company can be contacted online here https://www.LaundryCenterRecall.com or here at www.Frigidaire.com. Click the “Product Recalls” link at the top of the page for more information. You can also call 800-747-4620 Monday through Friday from  8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET or reach out via email to [email protected].

Units impacted have “FRIGIDAIRE” written below the dryer door with model numbers FFLG4033QW and FFLG4033QT. They were sold in white and titanium colors.

The impacted units can also be identified by serial number, which is located on a white sticker inside the dryer door. For model number FFLG4033QWX, the following serial numbers are included in the recall: 4E44114739 through 4E81603034. For model number FFLG4033QTX, the following serial numbers are included in the recall: 4E44308482 through 4E81603380.
