Ramapo Police Crack Down On Moped Drivers Weaving Through Traffic

By Idy Perl

Ramapo Police officers are cracking down on mopeds and e-bikes that weave and swerve dangerously through traffic.

Last week a Ramapo police officer saw a Honda ADV150 moped, operated by a 25-year-old male, cutting off cars and weaving between lanes on Airmont Road near North DeBaun Avenue. The officers noticed that the moped also didn't have license plates, and pulled over the driver. When the driver couldn’t produce insurance documents, the vehicle was towed and multiple tickets were issued.
This case is now in the hands of the Village of Airmont Justice Court, where the legal process will continue so the driver faces the consequences of putting himself and others in danger.
